The Sondrio Biennial 2026: three of my works beyond the limit

La Biennale di Sondrio 2026: tre mie opere oltre il limite

I am happy to share important news with you: I have participated in this edition of the Sondrio Biennale 2026, an international event that brings together artists from all over the world. The Sondrio Biennale was created with the aim of fostering dialogue between art, culture, innovation, and society, creating a space for discussion capable of transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. For me, it represents a precious opportunity to present my artistic research within a broad international context.

An event that looks beyond limits

The Sondrio Biennale was developed around the theme "Beyond the limit," a slogan that invites artists and visitors to reflect on contemporary challenges. The event aims to transform the mountain territory into a creative laboratory open to the world, where art and innovation can contribute to cultural and social growth. This approach makes the Sondrio Biennale particularly interesting: it is not limited to exhibiting works, but promotes new ideas and new perspectives.

Sondrio Biennale: between community and cultural dialogue

One of the most interesting objectives of the Sondrio Biennale is the construction of an open and inclusive cultural network. The event connects artists, the public, institutions, and the territory, fostering dialogue between different generations and backgrounds. This aspect is particularly significant because it allows art to move beyond traditional spaces and become a concrete tool for participation, discussion, and collective growth.

Sondrio Biennale and culture as a driving force for change

One of the aspects that struck me most about the Sondrio Biennale is its cultural vision. The event considers creativity a concrete tool for regenerating the social and economic fabric. Through exhibitions, meetings, and interdisciplinary activities, the Sondrio Biennale enhances cultural heritage while looking to the future, fostering innovation and dialogue between different disciplines. It is a vision that resonates strongly with my understanding of art.

An international project between art and sustainability

The Sondrio Biennale is part of a cultural journey that engages with themes of environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Among the objectives of the event are supporting artists, the international circulation of works, and the creation of new cultural networks. In a historical period where culture is called to continuously reinvent itself, the Sondrio Biennale demonstrates how art can become a tool for growth and collective participation.

Sondrio Biennale: Palazzo Pretorio as a meeting space

My selected works for the Sondrio Biennale were exhibited at Palazzo Pretorio within the exhibition "Visions Beyond the Limit." The exhibition was open from February 28th to March 28th, 2026, and featured over 300 artists and more than 500 works from various countries. Being part of this journey means engaging with a plurality of languages, poetics, and sensibilities that make the Sondrio Biennale an important reference point for contemporary art.

The three works I presented at the exhibition

For the Sondrio Biennale, three works were selected that represent different aspects of my artistic research: Memorie di sangue (Memories of Blood), M.A.R.I.A. – Magici aromi rivivono in arte (M.A.R.I.A. - Magical Aromas Live Again in Art), and Ode of the Heartbroken III. Although they address very different themes, they all share a fundamental characteristic: they arise from personal experiences and the desire to transform emotions, memories, and reflections into images capable of engaging with the public.

Sondrio Biennale and Memories of Blood

Among the works present at the Sondrio Biennale, Memorie di sangue addresses a deeply social theme. The work reflects on the condition of women and the weight of wounds that traverse different generations. I wanted to represent the daily courage of being a woman in a society that too often reduces identity to a superficial gaze. In this sense, the work becomes a reflection on memory, collective responsibility, and the need to break cycles of violence and discrimination.

M.A.R.I.A. and the value of family memory

With M.A.R.I.A. – Magici aromi rivivono in arte, presented at the Sondrio Biennale, I chose to tell a deeply intimate story. The work is dedicated to my grandmother and the memories I carry with me. It is a tribute to cooking as a gesture of love, to family tradition, and to those small daily rituals that become part of our identity. Through images and symbols, I have tried to transform a personal memory into a universal story capable of speaking to anyone.

Sondrio Biennale and the connection with "Who Comes and Who Goes"

The third work selected for the Sondrio Biennale belongs to the triptych Ode of the Heartbroken. This work is one of many present in my poetic collection, but it is also one of the three key symbols for translating it artistically. The three serial engravings, in fact, synthesize the emotional journey recounted in the book through three fundamental moments: solitude, completeness, and idolatry – the latter represented precisely in the exhibited piece. It is a reflection on love, loss, and personal growth, themes that have been at the heart of my artistic research for years.

A work that speaks of love and transformation

Within the Sondrio Biennale, Ode of the Heartbroken III represents the phase of idolatry. I wanted to depict an idealized version of the loved one, a symbol of a young love still tied to the idea of perfection. It is an image that tells of the difficulty of letting go of what has been important to us. At the same time, however, it suggests the possibility of growth and transformation that every emotional experience inevitably brings with it.

Looking to the future with the Sondrio Biennale

Participating in the Sondrio Biennale represents an important moment for me in the journey that began years ago between poetry, engraving, illustration, and digital experimentation. Every new exhibition is an opportunity to share stories, emotions, and questions with different people. The Sondrio Biennale perfectly embodies this idea of openness: a place where art transcends its limits, meets new communities, and continues to generate possibilities.
